No, still trying to find someone with a Sync-Mate for a GEMS or other wizardry!Hi mate did u manage to get your ecu sync done yet
Update- I have now fitted a second hand Genuine SAGEM, engine cranks over fine but does not fire, although there is still only the one pulse of the injectors, spark plugs fire correctly. This is with the original engine ECU.
I have also got a Genuine GEMS 8.2 Engine ECU all numbers match my original, but when this is fitted the dash ignition lights come on, but when I turn the key to start there is nothing & all the dash lights go out.
So I assume it will have to be synced to the BECM some how before the engine will crank over.
Thanks for your help.
yes, but is there anything I can do to get them to have the same code? or is it the end for breaking a good car with only 66580 miles! If the BECM and Engine ECU do not have the same security code you are going nowhere.

I just don't know what to do now.
Pete12345 very kindly popped over with his Nanocom but it came up ECU locked, so could not do anything. I'm not sure if a sync mate would fix it. I have the original ecu that cranks the engine, the replacement one does nothing when the key is turned so although i was told it was tested I don't know if it is any good or just needs coding?Nanocom or other decent diag. Pity you're so far away or I'd pop over. I cannot take that kind of journey at the moment with my workload. @Wazzajnr seems to get about a bit. Not sure if he visits Kent though.
I don't want to scrap her, she drives so great when she working!!There must be someone on here that can help or offer a solution, whatever you do, don't scrap her at only 66K miles.
I have not had anything from the guys you mentioned.Maybe one of the real gurus has an idea? @Rick-the-Pick or @wammers ? Has @mozz smith had a go at it yet? @martyuk might have an idea but he's off working away at the moment.
I have had several devices plugged in & all have read data, but unable to fix it yet.I wonder if you have a fault in your OBD socket?
Hi Pete, we could not see anywhere or how to copy any codes across. When u plugged in your snap on dish did u copy ecu code to ur becm otherwise I fink it may start but not rember code for nxt time
My original engine ecu has a burnt track on the circuit board, hence why I got a replacement unit with all matching numbers, but when the replacement is connected there is nothing when the key is turned. What I mean is, the snap-on tool obviously provided a connection to enable a start up, and whilst I'm no sparky it's likely a ground issue.
You need one of two things, expert help from on here or an auto electrician. They are all mobile and a local garage should be able to recommend one.
Sounds frustrating whatever the problem is.
