Bidding on an electric pocket welder to practise on and to do small repairs to disco, it doesn't come with a regulator though, is this needed for it to work?

cheers

Good make Cebora, had a couple of them in the past. Basically you have a spool of wire fed through the gun which melts the steel being welded. The arc is made by connecting the earth clamp to the job. If it is a gas mig, you will need a bottle of inert gas which will need a regulator fitted to the bottle and a small hose will take it through the gun and the gas protects the area round the weld. If it is a turbo mig/gasless then it wont need a gas bottle. The welding wire is different for a gasless mig though, it has a flux in it.

Is use a cebora. cracking machine, nice and smooth, does everything I ask of it and never let me down

Reg from somewhere like Thomas graham same for gas but they only do little bottles. For big ones you need a mate with a pub, fab shop or get a boc account

Could have bought mine with a reg already on it ;)

Would have been about £240 with a 15kg wire roll and spare shrouds and tips ;) no idea hat you paid for yours as can't view link atm

I said i'd contact him in morning but agreed for £50 then i have to fork out for a gass bottle and reg!! disco costing enough atm haha

Regulator is about 15 for small 25 for big iirc bottle is £50 to buy from boc and then you have to pay something stupid better finding a mate with pub or buy small bottles if only welding little bits

Cool are they easy to set up? All i'll be using it for is to sort patches near battery bay and to weld new boot floor in
