have got some heavy duty axle stands , don’t fancy take a risk with this heavy lump

at least if i put the wheel back in and drop it back on the ground i know for sure the wishbone is back in the correct position, well u it’s it’s laser aligned that is, lol
blocks are better if weight can slip ie off a jack , axle stands are no good for weight that might move, but very good for static load bearing

these are the ones i got , rated 6 Ton each as they had a wide stance , also keep a trolly jack underneath as a precaution

know what u mean if u start swinging on bolts etc, especially where some axle stands have narrow bases and start pulling the vehicle latterly against them in the wrong diferection , but already tried them out when i was doing the front suspension struts and didn’t move an inch

I have these and can recommend them. The only problem I have is the Jack "Clarke" can’t lift the car past a couple of the notches. I have left a Freelander on four of them for 8 weeks with no problems and I am still using all this kit today (Or in a few days)

Just a quick one !!! You said the jack won’t lift high enough !! Are you jacking from the body or suspension ??

Send us a link to where I can buy one please :)

Front subframe and Toe bar at the back
The back at the toe bar.. you get a bit suspension travels... so your losing a canny bit lift there.. all depends how high you want it up on your stands .. i always jack of suspension so lifting all in one go..
And If I want it higher than the jack can manage.. get it on your axel stands. Lower ya jack and put a good old 4x2 wood on top of ya jack and go again.. another couple of inches ..
In fact.. I just use the fork truck at graft now..
It’s s disco .. they are bomb proof

Yup!! We’ve all Been there mate lol
But rember .. high is unstable also ..
If you put your stands to close to the centre it’s going to kill you!! Heard a story of a lad that did that.. working in his garage on his super extended stands., and his bairn rode his bike into the back of the car.. the car toppled and crushed the blokes legs..

been looking at some sgs jacks but to recovery from getting the compressor etc

Cool!!! I want some.. where did you get those gorgeous things from.. as that is on my birthday list .. it’s me birthday onThursday. So I will give you my address to post them to lol

I made my own.. and I have to use the fork truck to shift them..
I have a tendency to over engineer things!!
