Hello wizard of Ozz,
Long time no seen ? Busy with serious things I guess ? All ok as far as things can be ok, hope the same with you ?
(Less fun these days overhere, never a chance to post a spit or something like picture these days, dull dull dull):D:D:D:D

As I know sometimes hard to understand I'll show you what a spit is, see hereafter:;):rolleyes:

Smashing pic that Willo :) was thinking bout you the other day, i was blacking my black bits and using the famous Willo juice :) :) :)

And did it work wonders as I said ?? Rub it open well and evenly and it's like new. Like mine.

As you can see I finally managed to log in at photobucket again after I switched computers. Feeling like a (70 y old) kid in a toystore now.:D:D:D:D

I did a proper road test to and from work today. Car runs much better.
Has more oomph at all speeds and engine seems quieter to me. Is that possible or am I imagining it?

At one point I was doing 90 miles an hour and still accelerating before I noticed and dropped back down to 70.

I shall investigate the synergy mod next but not convinced I need it at the moment!

No - you are not imagining it! An EGR is a useless piece of kit better on the garage shelf than on the engine.

I didn't think I needed a Synergy either - until I eventually got one and was then kicking myself for not having fitted one long ago - I really did need one after all. ;)

I'm not so bothered with top speed as cruising at 85mph on the autobahnen is enough - it's the extra acceleration it gives me which is astounding. :D And the ECO mode when I choose it.

Every now and again I switch it off - just to assure myself that the money was well spent. :p

Singvogel.

OK, tell me why I need a synergy 2 mod?

How will I benefit?

dog-man

Ah well, only you can decide for sure.

I suppose part of it is how many miles you cover each year.

Perhaps more horse power and/or more mpg may not be what you need.

AFAIK all those who have a Synergy are very happy with it.

I have a Synergy2a+ and wouldn't be without it - it put 'fun' into driving a Freelander, by returning the power to the engine that LandRover de-tuned out of it.

Do a search on here, have a look at the charts and graphs on the Tuning Diesels website and decide for yourself.

Just over a year ago and some 5k miles I cleaned my filthy EGR valve before disconnecting it's vacuum supply. When changing a turbo hose today I was able to see the EGR innards - they are spotless!
Its nice to think such a simple mod is preventing all that muck building up.

Since doing this mod, I have found that my miles per tank has dropped by about 50 or so.

Is this to be expected?

Not noticed any change after I fitted the bypass to mine, could be your finding the engine more responsive and using the extra power.

Shouldn't be! Nick has a valid point, its normal to go woooo I've tinkered with it so ill play with it now, so you drive it harder smile a bit and use more fuel. Then as you get bored it goes back to normal!

I totally agree - same when you fit a Synergy unit - after a while you stop 'playing' so much - and the mpg goes back up.

With all the little mods I've done I get a good bit more miles per tank than before.

I do think you are all correct in that I have been driving differently as the Landy is now capable of much more! :D

What sort of mileage improvement can a synergy 2 give then?

hi,sorry to but in on this thread,i had one of these items on my rover 75 diesel,it made a vast improvement to the MPG and MPH figures.it is well worth getting.in fact i am getting one for my disco td5.:D:D

I have not done a lot of research on the synergy, but basically, doesn't it just supply more fuel at the right time, therefore using more fuel?

Or have I totally misunderstood what it does?

I probably have! :(
