You need a very long spanner- or perhaps some very small hands!

thks, just can’t get the angle and will have a search on ebay for some extra long spanner

had to use a irwin socket as the other nuts were round off, this strut is at least 10 x years old so done well

have just order some long reach impact 6 x sided socket for the bottom bolt and a small set of ratchet spanner’s

will be useful for the other side as this drivers side is the easiest one

many thks so much once again

Yeah I'm defo not adverse to a regular meet- Sussex lanes open at the end of March and I know a few good cafes round here! Keen to get back to Salisbury Plain too at some point, my last outing there was a bit, er, wet!

plus 1 ref the regular meets , like it because it’s local and don’t have to drive 100 x miles or so to reach other greenlanes

will also be nice if maybe in the summer to have a weekend camping trip

Yeah defo up for a camping trip, I've got a long list of other place I want to explore laning!

sounds great , my parents kindly bought me a tent and didn’t realise it’s a 6 -8 person one so plenty of room for the dogs, lol

will be really good for all of us to meet up on some greenlaning trips

Thought was who was working on it :p ;)

Only jesting mate :)

u cheeky mare , LMAO ;):p

managed to get the large bottom bolt out, kept jumping on the breaker bar

just this bleeding back bolt , took me around 4 x hours by the time i had striped everything down

may i ask did ur torque wrench go up to 300nm or 221 iilb ft plse , for the life of me i can’t remember

this is the easy side

@gstuart 210 nM mate, just checked.

bless u, looking on ebay for torque wrenches to go up 300nm are in excess or £200 quid and will only use it twice for the bottom bolts

maybe if i torqued it to 210nm then give it some more welly with a breaker bar,

plenty of room for that big bolt to get an air gun on , so for the passenger side it would be perfect to get the bolt undone plse

have ordered some long reach spanner , for the top nuts

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRO-5pc-...242070&hash=item4b0a12cec5:g:hzwAAOSwQS1aKWJR

have got all new nuts and bolts

i have a big torque wrench, will look what it goes up to tomorrow

bless u and many thks , would be awesome then to get it correctly torqued

didn’t do too bad today , tommorow is supposed to be horrible again with sunshine weds , yippee

getting there very slow and steady , lol

If we're on yours on 20th, if at all possible I'd like to have a go at getting mine done on the 21st if we can....I really fancy taking mine ! :D

if flat doesn’t mind and would be so kind coming to u on the 20th plse , i can then carry on with mine

then if req can drop over to u on the 21st if needed , in order then 3 x of us can concentrate getting urs ready for the trip

but only if that’s ok with u, just trying to ensure ur up and running , i can plod along for the next few weeks

what do u think as it would be perfect if both are ready for the trip

Yours first Gary - that was the deal mate. I'll be gutted if I can't take mine but yours is your only motor so you need it. I can use one of the fleet....

deal, i don’t remember any deal, lol

u and me both , will also be seriously gutted if we can’t get urs up and running , but the only thing we can do is play it by ear and see what the day brings

should have the drivers side finished by this weekend , then can start on the passenger side , that will be the pig
