Now, I realise there are already many EAS threads here but this particular fault is a little different.

I have an intermittent EAS fault, once the message appears the suspension usually stays level but occasionally the front end goes to extended profile (this has earnt the car the name "Lurch"). Switching off for a couple of minutes usually clears the fault and the message (this is unusual I understand) and the suspension works as it should, keeping its level, dropping at speed and coming back up etc. Inhibiting the suspension doesn't prevent the fault message appearing but does seem to stop the front rising.

So, any ideas? I read elsewhere on the forum that a fault message that clears indicates faulty ride height sensors. Is this the case or is there something else it could be?
 
Hi i have had a similair problem and have now found i have a faulty ride height sensor,mines a 1995 4.0 se when i found the fault with laptop it was reading fr signal incorrect on my car it is possible to change the front sensors from one side to the other i done this and the fault chaged to left side so have ordered a new sensor just check in my case you can change the sensors round but in later models i,m not sure if you can

You need to read the fault codes. I can supply you the EAS suite on CD with a cable for £11 plus £2.67 P&P. This is special to Landyzone members only.:) You will need a laptop and maybe a USB to serial adaptor as well.

It is almost certainly a height sensor problem. Try cleaning connections first, then if no joy. If your chassis number is after VA346794 the sensors can be transposed from side to side. Do this see if that cures the problem.

Ok, it's been plugged in and the fault is with the offside front sensor. Plenty of the interchangeable ones about but not the earlier type which is what mine has. Anyone know of any anywhere? There is one on eBay but naturally it's for the nearside!
