Annoyingly the rubber brake flexi's are mint, no sign of perishing at all but the caliper steel end is well crusty so she'll need a full brake bleed with the hassles I've read I'm gonna have.
Struggling to get the abs sensor out now, sprayed some penetrate on it and left that to do its work twice but it's stuck fast. It's gonna fight me to the end the ungrateful baster.
I'm knackered, shower and bed.

Is it safe to get some heat on the hub nut? Don't want to damage the pricey wheel bearing which has no play..

Crow bar looks like it'll lock the hub, found an imperial impact socket 3/4" drive, 3/4" short breaker bar and a length of tube. Gonna have dinner and attack it after:D. They aren't left hand thread are they? I've knocked the locking 'tap' away.

I wouldn't. I went to my local Indy and he hammered it off with his air-wrench. Then I nipped it up to get home until I took it off. Opposite on refitting: I did it up as far as I could and he hammered it up for me.

You may break your 1/2in cracker bar if you put a tube on it, better knacker the T bar, judging by the trousers I see you have housed an Afghan refugee.Mustaffa.Rangie?:D:D

Ha! Does look like I've got Ali babar trousers on:p, weird angle that's all.
Breaker bar is 3/4" too:D.
I'm gonna put the opposite axle wheel back on, chock the rear wheels and Chuck the spare under the sill this side incase it slips off the jacking beam:rolleyes:

Don't forget to treat it as a dead lift, rather then pushing down. If it goes or something breaks you'll easily stop a dead lift. Pushing down and you'll break your teeth.

That's just laying on the floor, was going to use that until I found the 1 1/4" 3/4" socket and breaker bar.
It undid with a long tube:).
Got the disc and disc guard off and the 4 bolts holding the hub on.
Still struggling with the abs sensor, loads of releasing fluid has been on it too. :(

I ended up drilling the sensor out and replacing it.when I put it back together I cut the dust cover so the sensor can stay in place if the hub ever has to come off again.someone did the same and posted a photo.

1" water pipe over the 3/4" drive breaker and a length of scaffold tube over that.

Took ages to get the hub off, smacking the disc brake with a hefty lump hammer did nowt so got a not very manly puller on it and very very slowly it started to move .

Left the sensor in, spent hours on it, heat and releasent did nothing.
Hub is off and driveshaft out.
You can see the damage that the sensor has done to the shroud.
@tomcat59alan I presume you just cut the shroud out up to and the same width as the original hole? Sounds obvious but just checking..

Couple of questions...
Gaitor is perfect but should I seperate the joint to renew the CV grease anyway?
The axle end oil seal is also mint with no leaks at all, should I replace it anyway or is it best left alone?.
Lastly, and this is probably the one I'm most worried about, are the cheap(er) abs sensors ok? Scary difference in priceo_O

Now you've just spoilt all our fun. We were looking forward to the next shot of bloody knuckles, a bloody nose and blood all over the workshop floor.
