its possible the pump can fail any time I think. if you've jumped the relay and no sound from the pump, then new pump is a good bet.
there's a thread yesterday here referring to an earlier thread explaining how to cut a hole in the boot floor to replace the tank..
(canyon's the man!)

if you have the wrong electric top on your pump the injector light (orange light) on the dash will stay lit normally it goes out after a few seconds as regards changing the tops its not hard to do. you have a pin on the top which has to go into a hole in the ring inside the pump when you have it back together if it runs rough slacken the bolts holding the top down and move it a bit as the top slides (timed) i have 2 of them done with great success

I have now tried all thing I can read about here and the car still dont start. The pump is ok and the top of it its the same I had before. I still not get fuel to the injectors. I have fuel to the pump. The stop work fine to. Any one have an idea?

are you sure the timing sprocket is in the right position? I'm not sure, (I've not done it) but I think its possible to get it back in the wrong position when you remove and replace the FIP.
also - did you reconnect the wiring to the timing device?

Freddan, where in sweden are you located?

I'm just south of Stockholm myself, and might be able to give you a hand.
Or if you're really sick of it buy it as a donor car ;-)

Hi again. I have now work a few days on the car and have tried whit new in tank fuel pump. I have no power to the pump? I have tried to get 12v under the relay
and still dont have any power. The fuel cut of switch I have pushed on and still no power.

I have a sync mate and it show green light so it should be ok whit that to I hope.

Now I have no idea what to do.

Sliding the top does not alter the pump timing is changes the fuel quantity. Pump timing and fuel quantity are totally different. You can only adjust the pump timing with special tools. Timing is a specific lift on cam dependant on mileage at TDC, it is set to +- 0.001". It is not something you can guess at and get right.

Have you tried running power direct to the pump to make sure that at least it should run??

Yes I have tried on both pump and they are working.

Can it be be wrong at the relay box? And what is the different between diesel and petrol box? I have looked on both and fuses and relay are fitted on same place, but there is different box number.
