no warnings on dash

about as far as ive got so far, is this another common glich?

why are these sheds so buggy?
i could plug my laptop into the beemer and do everything on every ECM
bloody land rover more secretive than the KGB with there electrical system

gotto say im not happy with range rovers, starting to wish id bought another BMW now

gonna kick and swear at it now
cheeres

Lock motor burnt, possibly due to a faulty FOB RF receiver, either that of broken wires between a post and door.

These cars really are a case of fix one thing and another thing breaks. Anyway, my money is on the motor being burnt out. As Datatek says it's most likely due to your RF Receiver. Make sure you replace this before the lock/latch or else the new one will just burn out again. Good tip is to buy a rear door latch for the relevant side and just swap the motors over (rear latches are cheaper on ebay than fronts).

Owning a Range Rover is a lifestyle choice....they are not get in and go cars, they will need constant looking after, a Range Rover isn't for everyone that is for sure...

cheers ill have a look at motors,
but they sure are a car for nursing, and im no nurse
just very wary of touching any wiring as last time i unpluged a cable my bloody SRS light stays on.
if sun stays out ill get meter out.
cheers

A Range Rover is not a car, it's a hobby. Unreliability taken to previously unatainable heights.

a hobby? a bloody hobby?
ive seen people worshiping thor for a hobby, with more bloody chance of summit happening
you have gota be having a right girrafe

1: does nothing on these things wear out? ie slowly then stop.. not just pop, thats ya lot
2: how the hell have any of you got the patience of R2D2 to keep one of these cash guzzling nasty nasty bite you when ya not looking monsters,

im gonna stick with your answer and i can get all our tools in and get on site
but would be nice to have a few nice things working, spose if worse happens ill scew a bit of ply over the door for security, may even increase the value of the shed

Unlike Datatek, I LOVE Range Rovers - have done since I was a young boy!!

Yes they are unreliable, yes they break down, yes the will all of a sudden just stop working....do I care - not in the least, it is all part of the Range Rover experience!

And yes, each door has an Outstation that controls the door functions!

A Range Rover is a stupidly over complex beast, and owning one is not for the fainthearted or ill prepared for such things...as I said a Range Rover isn't for everyone - even though with the cheapening of the brand that comes from the Sport and the Evoque, Land Rover are trying to appeal to the masses...rather than what Range Rover was about in the first place, for those that will appreciate it and have the attitude for it....they are definatly only for the few.....

Charles Spencer King would turn in his grave if he had any idea what LR have one to the Flagship Model!

I use mine once a week at most so it's a hobby car really. If I had to use it everyday I reckon it would of met with a box of matches and some petrol a long time ago :D

There are outstations in the rear doors???

I use mine every day and it no worse than any other car I've had and in forty + years of driving I've had a few , British and foreign , if your not happy with it sell it on let someone else play with it !

If I had the cash to buy a decent car I would. The P38 is the only vehicle I've ever owned where I find it essential to always carry diagnostics. Luckily I have a rusty but reliable Transit so I don't have to depend on the P38.
