is that the tappets? jesus. and that boost pipe will just expand before it properly boosts.
did u manage to sort out the clutch leak? good to se it driving though

ah your not a million miles away in Altrincham! i go to Uni at Harper Adams Shropshire so we go laning in wales and all over really!

thanks for the info shifty ill look through it now!

Mikey its the compressor noise u tit lol and yea i need a more permanant (read stainless shiney shiney) solution...
still not revvin hard enough and abit of a miss at top end...
slowly gettin there tho... just had the clutch apart today and the air seal is fubard lol

nah just the clutch slave
and not this week... needs some reinforcing and need to sort this revvin out

need another mount for the gearbox and a bit of reinforcing between the gearboxes as its moving abit move than i like lol

Mate - awsome love it and very envious. Just wondering whether your rpm prob is air related rather than a fuel problem. I had a td5 that wouldn't rev over 3krpm and it was a turbo / intercooler hose that had delaminated and collapsed internally and was restricting breathing and rpm, couldnt see a problem externally. took ages to diagnose but once replaced the engine revved freely again.................

thanks bud... ive ran it without the pipes and with other pipes and its never revved up a great deal tbh

Put the fuel system back to how cummins designed it with the mech lift pump and side fuel filters and all will be fine.
You dont need the air assist on the clutch either.

the lift pump and filters were both screwed hence trying to use what i had
the air clutch came fitted to the engine and box so im trying to make use of it... im trying to find some seals for it... then it will work perfectly

I found with the air clutch it was really nice and light, but being used to landys I just couldnt get used to it cos it felt broken! so I disconnected it.
Keep going and good luck.

fair enough mate
you watched the vids? you think my fuelling issues are caused by filter and lift pump?

10-4 on that... its the cheapest thing to try too so will give it a whirl
hows ya clutch without the air then?

pictures nicholas!

and pressbrake, you said you made your own hose? would you be albe to do a couple for some beer tokens? ive never been happy with my top and bottom water hoses in my series TDI. i want one piece.
Trouble is you have to make a steel former for the hose and as you are 150m away its not really viable unless you can make it and send it down.

Clutch without air feels like standard early defender, sold it 3 years ago though to the person who bought my first conversion in 2000 and he hasnt noticed.
Been trying to find pictures to show you but no luck yet, but im not doing anymore projects to conserve money.

fair enough mate... i know what you mean about conserving money!
i think the air assist would be nice for traffic and shunting etc
i hope it was just those seals and nothing more

well after all the mither with the clutch it turns out the new master was fubard!
also im struggling to get the Bosch VE pump off the back of the Daf 45 Cummins 6BT as despite making a spanner to fit i still cant get the bottom nut off it!
