Hi all,

I am having a problem with my spare keyfob. The main one I use for teh car works fine / disables the imobiliser

The 2nd / spare one however does not open the doors / or disable the imobiliser.

I have tried replacing the battery, and re-syncing, but to no avail

Does this mean I will need a new spare keyfob / get it programmed by a LR dealer ???

Also I see in teh manual that there is an imobilisser over ride procedure, where you put in a code - however said code is not registered in my original documentation ! is there anyway of getting a hold of this ???

thanks

Ian

Key fobs are renowned for going Pete Tong. You should be able to get a new fob programmed by a good landy independent.

Pop into your local Landy main dealers for the EKA code. You may well be asked for proof of I.D., chassis number, reg number and proof of ownership of the vehicle etc etc.

Where in the country are you Ian ?, I may be able to assist!
Cheers

what year and model freelander do you have ?

the later ones have an immobiliser transponder chip in the key, not the remote control

use the working fob to open it, but the key from the non-working set. it will tell you if it is the key or the remote control.

then use the non-working fob and working key just to make sure.
