Im looking at making a discovery pick up out of my rusty 3 door. Using the Longranger cab conversion. Mainly for something different and to put my bikes in the back. If I didn't modify the chassis at all would I get away with not having to go through VOSA and all the other rubbish that bobtails and tray backs have to go through?

Im a little on the dark on this but from what I have read its only when the chassis is modified that things go downhill regarding using it on the roads?

as far as i can work out you would be ok...but im not sure if it falls under the radically altered vehicle part..iv tried emailing dvla and vos to no avail..

how many bobtails and altered lasndy do you think get the relevant checks, i doubt many do

If you getting the kit from longranger ask Clinton he is a great guy knows his stuff amazing welder all round top bloke my mod rangie biult by him one very clever bloke

No vosa check required as all you are doing is altering the body style. No different to dropping a Freelander shell on a disco chassis - it's still a disco, just a different body plan

Yeah I emailed Longranger when I first thought about it but never had a reply, hopefully they will be at the show this weekend.
