Can someone please suggest where this part goes on a Discovery 2, so I can put it back!?
I took out both front carpets, which also meant taking the seats out and the centre console. After I put things back together, this was left over.
The only mark on the black bar is a letter "R". I assume that the gold-coloured bolt goes with the black bar since the threads fit.

I've just had a quick look under the seats of mine (it has cd changer & amp under there) but can't see anything like that. I don't recall seeing anything like that either when I last had the centre consol out, sorry.

Same here. I’ve had it all out and don’t recall that part either !! The fact it has an R On it suggests it’s sided though and there could be a mirror of it on the left. It might help if the OP told us why the seats, console and carpets were out.

Hi,
This is a crossmember that links an angle bracket with dashboard support - look below the steering wheel, close to the air duct exit. The angle bracket is fixed by two nuts, the rear one should hold your link. Other side of your link, (the one with a nut) should be connected to the steering wheel column support.

I can take it today evening, as I'll be at the garage. Below some stolen picture with location indicated in red - but it's actually hidden deeper under the cover.
