be careful when unsrewing the plastic sensor from the fuel filter as they can get brittle and snap off,not a major prob if it does will just need replacing.

cheers lads just drained fuel filter still wont start,so phoned a landrover guy hes comin to take it he says it could be some thing simple as not enough fuel fingers crossed thanks 4 all ya help.

Not enough fuel, exactly air in fuel like I said.

Put 15 quid in it, do the priming procedure as I suggested and give it a good chugging!

I know mines a petrol V8 but I had the same thing happen to me, I was running on literally empty when I put an extra few liters in, tried to take it for a little spin and she conked and wouldnt start just like yours, I put £15 quid juice in and she fired up shortly afterwards, the system has return fuel lines and the whole system has to be full of fuel and free of air.

I would suggest what Noisy sais and sling another £15 juice in, cant do any harm.

just tryed more fuel and still wont start.just waitin 4 the local landrover guy to come take it c what he can do as it just keeps running battery flat.can i have the battery charger on the car and try and start it or will this nack the electrics.

just had machanic from along street have a look at car he sprayed it with easy start it tryed to start but without the etha it wouldnt even try so a fuelin proplem any ideas.

hmm..

So you put the key in and you turn it and you hear the pump pump fuel. Then you turn it further and it turns the engine over but wont start.

Its a Diesel...so easystart[1] wont work as that is for Petrol cars.

Others might be able to confirm but can it be the

• Immobiliser - So you might need to replace the battery in the key.
• Fuel Filter Blocked - Replace it, its a easy task and costs hardly anything to do.
• Wiring - [remove battery lead first] unplug CDI etc and check the connections for oil.
• Wiring again. Wiggle and waggle all wires in the engine area as you may have a short or bad earth.
• Error Codes - Get a nice Landrover guy to check for error codes as it might be Glowplugs fsked.
• Fuel - Its a diesel so make sure you put diesel in it.

cheers thats what it was start ya b#####d.the landy guys just been he thinks its the fuel pump as u can hardly hear it he showed me on his fender and was realy loud.il find out 2morrow he has a couple of discos 4 sale so going to try 1 of ther pumps.
