One of my fav mods was fitting some 3” rock sliders , awesome in the car park when cars try and open there door to wide onto the disco , lol

got them second hand and then sprayed 4 x coats of dinitrol inside and out, drilled a few holes in the bottle to allow water to escape

apologises as I’m waffling again, lol

hiya

that’s great you’ve resolved the issue as just read ur other post ref the EGR

indeed my MAP sensor was also the same before blanking my egrs , I just used some contact cleaner but indeed things like brake fluid etc are ok, i Used a small pick very carefully to remove the build up ensuring not to touch the small sensor at the bottom of the hole

assume u done the same on cleaning the hole out very carefully on the map sensor

also if it helps the first pic is ur MAF and second pic is ur MAP , as the egrs are now blanked the Map sensor will stay a lot cleaner , I removed mine after a year and found it very clean

Before blanking the throttle body , egr pipes and inlet manifold fill up with all the carbon

also have to ensure when there blanked to remove the butterfly valve inside the throttle body, need to put the pin back in , seen a few posts where that’s been forgotten in situ

I even smoke tested my intercooler system as I was trying to find errors that were showing air leaking , found them in the end at the egr pipes where it connects to the throttle body and also at the turbo and air turbo intake pipe , that was a right nightmare to replace the small turbo hose

the turbo actuator arm can and does stick, when the ign is turned off theres A software that motors the turbo actuator arm back and forth to prevent it from sticking , i greased all mine up

hope that helps and once again really chuffed it’s been resolved , plus with that Map sensor now nice and clean it should be more responsive

lastly when u get chance ref diagnostics u can check all of the sensors via live data , so handy to have

Op was talking about the fact you can get the bonnet to stand vertical for easier access.

Our new to us 4.4 V8 D3 is pretty much sorted now. Our TDV6 was the victim of a local scum bag who has been going around petrol bombing 4x4s.

Only just got the insurance sorted for that.

I can report the V8 D3 is amazing I almost bought another 1 but iv got x3 V8s now. Am still waiting on the ulez court case to see if I get to keep my L322 if it goes the wrong way then it will have to sadly go.

@gstuart
Gary you waffle all you want. Thank you.
I really know nothing so so soaking it all up like a sponge. 👍
That d4 map sensor has a hell of a hole.
Can you just swap part for part and would it be beneficial?

Sorry to hear of the petrol bombing incident.
Does anyone know why they would do such a horrible thing?

I wonder if it's the same mind set as the tyre deflating lot.. just a lot more destructive.
It's either jealousy or they think they are getting rid of 4x4's

It's the wrong way to get rid of a 4X4, especially if they think it's to help the environment. Far more toxic poisons are released by burning a vehicle than ever would be if it was just driven until it needed recycling.

Where my daughter lives in Bristol peoples range rovers are getting spray painted. Just stop oil. 🙄😮 ****s.
I had to wait 30 mins to get into a town to do a delivery because they were protesting last week.

The thing is when it snows and the country grinds to a halt they beg all the 4x4 owners to help out.......take people to hospital.....pick doctors up etc.
Well there out luck feck em

OMG mate and WTF, really sorry to hear that , hopefully someone or the police will catch who ever is doing it , particularly now with so many ring door bells / cctv around , plse tell me it wasn’t at ur house as that’s even worse with ur family there

also watching that ref the ULEZ court case, think they said the ruling will be told on the 31st June, see Bromley and bexley are some of the counties involved with it, at least that would be something for So many drivers

fingers crossed u don’t have to get rid of the L322 , also really hoping I don’t have to sell mine after all the hard work I’ve put into it , plus can see the TDV6 are dropping in price within the ULEZ area so mine in reality won’t be worth much

good To hear the V8’s are good and indeed might be following suit

ur very welcome and thks ref the waffling , do know I’m guilty of it , lol

plus such a huge advantage where forum members have their field of knowledge so to speak when it comes to these vehicles

indeed regarding that D4 MAP sensor , main reason me fitting that was due to it being larger so it should in reality not block up as quick as the D3 one , along with the egrs blanked it’s been a lot cleaner , was plug and play

do think it picks up quicker since fitting it I but think that’s just me imagining it seeing I done so much other work on the intercooler system and Resolving air leaks

indeed, plus the gov pushed for everyone to buy a diesel , now 1,000’s will pay for it

must Confess I also use to help others that got stuck in snow , now I don’t bother , however I did help a stuck police car that was local
