To quote Conan Doyle, "when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable must be the truth! It wouldnt be the first time diesel has been contaminated with petrol, usually the other way round though. Could be worth calling the garage and seeing if others have reported issues.

Another favourite quote "Dont make things worse by guessing" Apollo 13 controller.

If, by a process of elimination you are happy that all the cars "systems" are ok it must be something else! But its important that the process of elimination is logical.

As has been suggested, recheck the turbo pipes, an air leak is a classic cause of overfueling, or worse case your head may have cracked, allowing fuel to go straight into the cylinders, unlikely, but have you checked your dipstick? if it smells of diesel then you may have diesel in the sump.

Something that most garages/dealers are totally incapable of doing is logical troubleshooting, they will just keep replacing bits until hey presto it works, an actual example, my GFs Mazda 6 had a bad lambda sensor, garage replaced it, made problem worse, they spent 3 days "diagnosing the faults" until I insisted they replaced the new sensor with another one, success, it didnt occur to them that the new sensor may be faulty.

So my advice, sorry its not much, is work logically through the systems, if its black smoke it is 99% probably too much fuel, when they are running cars dont usually just stop, so it sounds like its a sensor, the TD5 systems will tolerate multiple sensor faults, the one sensor that it cannot work without is the Crank shaft position sensor, recheck it.

One small point, has you car had its windscreen replaced? Mine has, and its obvious because of the surface rust under the dash, caused by water getting behind the dash when the screen was broken. If moisture has got into any connectors it can cause intermittent/random faults for months.

BTW My injector seals only totally failed after I had "treated" my car to a dose of injector cleaner, within 100 miles they went from , "must do them soon" to "oh god its now stalled on the M5 and will only start after a full purge"

Rechecked all turbo pipes before setting off this morning. Everything fine.

As I didn't have vice grips I couldn't check the waste gate wonder if it's sticking.

Windscreen had been replaced this year due to crack for mot.

If your able to remove the rocker cover check that everything is secure, again its unlikely but has an injector come loose? Are all the clamp bolts for the injectors in place?

I've ordered up a replacement harness this morning. Attempted to drive to Edinburgh and got the rac on route atm. So hopefully a few of these ideas can be double checked

Had rac out.

So checked all hoses, they are fine.

Waste gate moves

Hooked up diagnostic and found seven fault codes.

Two referring to air flow sensor.

And the rest to injectors either shorting or not running.

So wiped the codes and scanned again and the two air flow sender faults came back up. Kept clearing and clearing still there.

Drove the car 15 miles and was fine but has done the same issue again but not as harsh this time had a little bit of power but still not running right.

Waiting on rac again. So guessing my harness for injectors are failing me. And the air flow sensor might be faulty

unplug the airflow sensor, see if that helps.

Guess your right. Ordered up a harness this morning might get a spare to throw in before it arrives.

It drove fine and sounded better once test firing on all cylinders.

Just a headache being far from home and work the morning wish I was on hoikday
