I have a feeling i know the answer to this but here goes. I was intending to de tune my IP so took the screws off and pulled the diaphram out and now i cant get it to go back in. this is because the pin that rests on it has shot home is there a way of retracting the pin ?

anyone i am stuck 25 miles from home

Magnet?? try throttling it?? I dunno. Why is you so far from Home?? & where are yu?? Someone close by might bt able to offer ya a lift home if nowt else

I am guessing but operating the throttle lever on the pump top may slide the rod back out, but it is a guess

We are talking about the round cover on the injection pump with 4 slotted screws holding it down?

Why should it be over fuelling?

Has the pump been tweaked?

If so just put it all back to where it was to start with, you did mark the diaphragm position didn't you before advancing it?

Of course, if you didn't touch it, then it would be the last thing on my list of smoking cures, what colour smoke?

On the video there is info on which way round the taper goes for factory setting, ramp to the rear I think,

Look at the screw on the back of the pump is the locking ring still fitted its spot welded to the bolt threads.
On the taper bit you should be able to see where the pin has been running as it leaves a mark, more than one mark means someones been messing
