Its a bloody nightmare of a fault I stripped my motor down unplugged each ecu individually with no luck getting comms back, 3 autoelectricians later, I gave up, I replaced lcm and clocks no luck, my cure was simple I needed to reset the fault codes in my air suspension unit (hard fault) other than that everything was perfect I simply removed air suspension unit plugged the unit into another 4.4 reset the faults and plugged it back in still running perfect now, but same as you I can only read engine and gearbox via kline the can sytem for all other units is down.

Hello Friends I have found the solution for this problem on My 2003 l322 HSE. I first had the front right bulb come on sometimes with the switch and sometimes not. Then it stopped coming on completely and so went the "Fault in communication with ECU" I started pulling all the ecus one by one and finally ended under the steering wheel when I unplugged the "Steering Angle Sensor" and that is still my problem until I get it replaced but I can unplug it to reset the rest of my faults then plug it back in
can wire from obd had been chopped up and butchered by the LPG guy who then hid it in the loom tape

Glad to see someone found a solution for them but unfortunately I'm still having connection problems with my allcomms, with error just showing and Tx and Rx flashing repeatedly.
I'be disconnected the steering angle sensor as listed above (I assume it's just the one lead), hdc inactive comes up etc but still the same. I've also had the same problem as the person who found the fix where one of my hid's sometimes won't come on on first try. It sometimes needs turning off and on for it to work. I've disconnected the igniter from the bulbs when trying the all comms too (dipped beam only) and still having error when connected.
If anyone has any further advice it'd be greatly appreciated. Car is currently beached on my drive as a height sensor failed. I replaced it and with having problems clearing the suspension Ecu fault, the same airbag has deflated and now it wouldn't be safe to drive to a garage. Even if I got it there I'm worried their diagnostics system won't be able to clear it.
