You could probably consider yerself naturalised now, maid
Just found this thread, I was looking on some maps. I really like the Helford and Lizard area and go there often.
Could someone tell me where the good lanes are?
I only know about the quarry near Mawnan.
Last time I was down there I still had my souped up luxobarge (RIP) now I have a D2 I want to explore places I could not before.
My cousin has sold both his Disco and his Defender TD5 so he could afford to buy a house.
BTW I may holiday there but I am not a proper tourist as I am of Cornish ancestry.
You need to read the stickies at the top of the greenlane section.
No one in there right mind will tell you where lanes are unless they know you and your intentions. There are so many muppets out there who are out to wreck them.
Its sad i know, but unfortunately a necessary.
Good advice from Ginge imo!
Sadly i feel like a complete arse when i don't give people the answer they want
I wish(as do other I'm sure) that we could just publicly announce the location of the best lanes etc etc. Id love to know that people will respect them and pick there litter up etc but unfortunately as you know, driving lanes is not enough for some, they have to challenge themselves.

Call me a boring fart , but for me half the pleasure is to meet like minded folk , work out the maps , recce the routes , then do the ones I know I'm capable of ......and all without upsetting anyone who lives on that route , and hopefully getting on and off them without leaving any more than the tyre track that went before me .....oh and then the all day brekkie .......which I'm now not allowed
I am back ......said in me best Arnie voice was a great day , Exmoor was hazy , but beautiful as always and we didn't see any rain till we got to Woody Bay ....roll on the Salisbury trip ...pity it's so bloody far But looks like I've got a little route mapped out for closer to home , will PM soon. ( I.e when I can be arsed an I'm not knackered ...done a few miles today , I drove the run and Ian drove home.)
Have I missed much been far too busy doing "stuff" to the new place nearly done now
