thanks for all the help. fitted it today and works fine.
and I didn't cut myself when cutting the hole with a Stanley
just takes a bit of getting used to, feels odd when the engine reeves go up when it comes to a hill. looking forward to being able to move my right foot around on long runs

Is there a definitive list of the parts you need for the CC retrofit?

I've done a search and there's a lot of CC threads but I couldn't find a final list of the needed parts.

I've got a 03 TD4.

just an update I picked up a black master switch from land rover today (£51.96) as I have a facelift Freelander. the one I got off eBay was grey.

as you can see the black one has an image of a clock and the grey a motorway image.
here are the part numbers

it plugs into the blue plug.

also the plug you are looking for under the drivers seat is this
