Hi Guys. Has the P38 on a 1998 year have a crankshaft senor fitted and where would this be,as my car seems to be missing power and I've been thought the usual suspects, plugs, air filter MAS ,fuel filter etc so all that is left is the crankshaft sensor. Thanks.

Don't know about the 98 model, I have a 2000 model 4.6 and when my sensor went it just stopped and refused to start until it cooled down a bit then start run fine until hot and just stop no loss of power just stop. I also had the same issue on a Rover 75.
Not sure if that helps but I think if the sensor is faulty it either runs or it doesn't I don't think it results in a lack of power but I am sure some other knowledgeable person will be along soon and put me right but hopefully help you out.

CPS is to be found opposite side of the engine from the starter motor in the same relative position I think (at least I seem to recall a previous post on this topic).
