Hello everyone
just noticed that there is a problem with the courtesy lights in my Discovery.
The switches are in the centre but they do not come on when opening the car with the remote or if manually opening an unlocked door however if I flick the switch to on they work!
Only just bought the car 6 days ago lol is this the start of it?
Any advice much appreciated
Hopefully as a complete noob I am missing the obvious and with a bit of luck I am going to look stupid rather than look to my wallet.

First of all what model of disco do you have. If it's a D1 the the interior courtesy lights are controlled by the Multifunction Unit following a signal from the central locking or door switches, it's located behind the footwell kick pannel on the drivers side (RHD) first check the units multipin plug, but the MFU controls a few things on the disco so a part of it may be faulty.

I have gone to have a look earlier and everything is as it should be no problems....weird

Ok the D2 has a Body Control Module or something similar and that can be be pluged into 'Testbook or Nanocom' to see whats happening.
