Just realised you said you already had a document saying it was fitted to LR spec.
In that case I'd deffo get it changed on the V5 then just look for insurance for a 5 seater, but if it has other mods then you still need to follow advcie already given on here!
@Stanleysteamer how do i go about changing the V5? i had a look on the Gov.uk about the seats and it doesn't give any info since it suggests its not notifiable?
Thank you and all other members for all your advice....i refuse to regret my D3 purchase despite all the obstacles thrown my way since ;);)

This is one of them there should have bought a freelander freds. ;)

Modified vehicles are a nightmare to insure. Since buying a house, the same vehicle doesn't attract 50% more for insurance to fit a roof rack. And dunt get me started on the mud guards costing no more if fitted on the LR production line, but increase the insurance if fitted by a garage or me. Bastids.

Try Adrian flux. I personally don't like them but lots on ere use them. You are a member of a car club, as yer a member of this forum. Flux give us a bit of discount and have a direct line number. Will find the link.

£1400
I rang around for weeks getting £1800 quotes.....thought try one more... £750 with 12 mods. Keep trying, if you find a better quote then swap

I’m not sure of your vehicle particulars but standard battery on my old RR isn’t strong enough so uprated to one off a lorry solved most the electrical issues.
Perhaps is possible to fit larger one for yours? Gstuart would know
@RangeRoller dt can you please recommend an insurer? Also i have a 5yr guarantee document (still valid for 3) on the battery so will raise any future issues through the fitters but definitely something to think on thank you

Last time I modified a vehicle I put a bigger engine in a vehicle and and I rang up the DVLA to make the change, I think, but I cannot be certain, that they were willing to take what I said over the phone and just sent me a new V5 so you could maybe just try that. If you tell them why you want it changed they may well just accept it. Others may have found them to be a pain but I have only ever found them helpful and the local office was fine when it came to registering kit cars, the guy just looked at the paperwork I gave them and went totally against the plods who said, smugly, "this'll get a Q plate" and gave me the original reg.
Horrible feeling local offices may well be a thing of the past. but you will be able to ring the DVLA I think.
Anyway from the gov.uk
https://www.gov.uk/change-vehicle-details-registration-certificate
Which says that you MUST tell them if you have changed the seating capacity. If you use this link and keep on clicking around in it I think it tells you how to update the V5c and send it off to Swansea. It tells you what to do if you have this type of V5c or that type of V5c.
So it must be possible. Best of luck

Glad you've found it!
My longer posts tend to be on Anything Goes, controversial subjects. Must be something to do with being an author of sorts!:):)

By the way, if the accident is not your fault, by English law there is no compunction on you to accept an insurance company's write off value. You are entitled to get it fixed. They keep fu cking quiet about this as they all p1ss in the same pot and want to keep all their costs down. They'll make it difficult for you, but in the end you'll get your car back as you want it rather than having to take a paltry sum and then go out and by another unknown heap of (possible) trouble, or else buy back your own car back (ffs!) off the insurance company and then use the write off money to rebuild it.
.
I did not know this.

To be honest i’ve had little opportunity to ‘enjoy‘ this club beyond problem solving since joining due to all the insurance issues and work related etc but will definitely be exploring more once leisure time is my own again :)

In a way it is good to hear you are busy with work, not something everyone can say what with CV19! But we all know what you mean!
I think most of us come on here to problem solve and then have fun looking at the other parts of the forum. But it is huge and there are still parts of it that I have never visited. Bit like a reference library!
One little tip, if you want to search for something it is often better to go to Google and then be very specific about what you want. It will often bounce you back in here but in the right place, I find the LZ search facility is not too sophisticated, whcih is unsurprising. Google must be far more expensive to run!:):)
