Clicking when trying to start could be relay 16 failed. Or starter pre engaging but not making contact to close main circuit. The brass bar that the solenoid uses to engage the starter sometimes gets hot and deforms losing contact with the main terminals.
 
Well the plot thinkers. Just tried with the other key and in position 1 all the dashboard lights came on nice and strong as they do, but when I turned it to position 2... as dim as heck. She still started to click In position 3 though.

Also this time for time she wouldn't lock with the fob and then the alarm started! Then it stopped by pressing the unlock on the fob.

Stranger still, as I opened my door she locked all the doors! When I closed the door she then unlocked them. I then used the close on the fob and, hey presto, she locked ok.
 
Sounds like your electrickery is being diverted ... could have a short in the starter ...

Could it have been caused when the mech re-wired the module for the window switch he fitted to by pass said module?

He did blow a fuse TWICE when he was doing it!
 
Could be a bad earth ,try a jumplead from engine block to battery neg terminal, if no better plan b.,bcm doint like spikes caused by fuse blowing,:eek:;)

Never had it apart but doesn't mean one of the previous 8 owners didn't!
 
It's the 6 months down the line when you go to clean the inside of the windscreen and you think to yourself Ok, time to clean the screen, I'll just catch that little nugget with me wet wipe and your still trying to de-smear 2 hours later!
Moral=Think before a flick!!!

ok, maybe time to stop this, I'm getting the boke:(:eek:

The pop contacts are held in place by clear tape, they are sealed, nothing can get to them until the tape is removed. They cannot be assembled without tape to hold them in position.

Sounds to me like a number of unrelated problems that just seem related. Don't assume the car battery and the fob are ok, try replacing the battery for a known good one and replace the fob battery for a new one. Always try the cheapest and easiest things first.
