Whilst you are waiting for Doug to sort out his bit can I suggest you get on and do the o rings lots of posts and walkthroughs available my reason for saying get on it is with a leak in the cooling system you need to fix it

Sorry only half a post there pressed the wrong key its an age thing:confused: anyway if the cooling system pressurises and she over heats well it could be big probs cure do the o rings parts about 3 quid but does take a bit of time but again loads on here will help
Good luck

Yeah i know they need doing i dont want to do them as i recon they are going to be a ballache i hate working under the pedal area and floors of cars....suppose i will have to like as i dont know anyone local who fancys a saturday govvey job lol...

Just an update really still awaiting the repair of the EBCM But its being a trouble some job but Doug is the man for the job and is keeping in touch every step of the way cant ask for a better guy to be fixing my EBCM problem just feel a bit sick as ive owned it 16 days and its been bust 11 of them :(

Don't feel bad I can better that 3 days the Rac come and jump the car, rev the bollocks out of it from cold, stone cold and damage the crankshaft towed back to the dealer , 3 months later I get the car returned with a second hand lump 93 bmw with the old type head fitted pre 1999 and a fooked injection pump , timing chains that are slacker than Jordan which I have to sort out because the dick heads couldn't work out why the car wouldn't run properly , because it still had the BMW electrics fitted to the pump !2 k later and another 2 months later I now have a car so don't feel bad mate it will! Be worth it

And yes the trading standards were not a lot of help as I had to give the
3 chances to do what a car should do start run and stop ,
So much for trading standards huh.

very interesting thread

only advice I can offer is a patronising pat on the shoulder and a "just relax, deep breaths, try to stay calm and it will work out for you" :)

DougDotCom - True legend for going so far out of his way to help. Just goes to show what a superb site this is.

Please keep us all up to date

The 2000 spec is identified by the darker internal surround so the delineation between the beam reflectors is more evident!
