Think this is likely the final update on the black beast this time, its had the new ECU fitted and is still no start now, so i think its time to call it a day and let the range rover breakers take it away next week

Doug has been brill but has no idea what else can cause it, no psark at plugs im gutted and im lost now too....

Dont know the way to go ethier so its looking like cutting my losses time and scrapping it shame as well i really like it....

I seriously feel for you. Have a hug :lvhug-035:You have been quite stoic through the whole thing. I know it may be a dumb comment but have you tried checking the 'doh factor', as in the simplest of things , rather than the bigger things. No idea what those simplest of things might be but I'm sure the guys can come up with some before you give up forever.



p.s Have you tried phoning the previous owner/dealer to see if they did anything to it that might be playing silly beggars?
 
doug is still here checking through settings and stuff the only thing he is wondering is the gearbox keeps coming up with a fault error still will the engine normally start in N and in park it turns over but no spark, in the other gears it wont turn over

It should only turn over/start in P & N so it's not that. The gearbox fault message is probably low volts due to constant cranking.
 
I know the guys on here are much more tech aware than I am but has the immobiliser function been checked on the diagnostics?

Well that would say the Gearbox ECU is interpreting the XYZ switch ok....

Have you checked for signal from the Crank Sensor as the vehicle turns over??

As if the ECU isn't getting an 'Engine is turnin' signal from the Crank and cam sensors - it won't know which coil fire and when....

You say you have power to the coils, just no output from them...and you say you have changed the coils for good ones....

So this indicates the BeCM is pulling in the relay to provide power to the coils, it is just the ECU isn't firing them - this can only be because the ECU doesn't know the engine is turning over....

I trust you have checked for fuel pressure at the fuel rail....

Disconnect battery - use a rag over the Fuel union and crack open, there should be a spray of fuel at around 45psi.....do it all back up and wait 20 minutes for the vapours to dissipate...reconnect battery....

The L322 won't fire the plugs if there is no fuel pressure in the rail, as when my fuel pump went U/S, it won't even cough on Easy Start....this is because the ignition system shuts down due to lack of fuel pressure.

Speak with Doug and see if there is a way to check the Crank sensor or cam sensor as I would only think an Ociliscope (spelling) is the only way to read the pulses from it....or if live dat while the engine is cranking would indicate a Crank and Cam signal....

Mmmmmm mines turning over in neutral and park ????????? but not starting in ethier

Sorry I'm confused now if its is turning over in park or neutral that is good and your only checking for a spark , are you saying its not turning over in park or Neutral??

It will turn over - just no spark....

I think it is - and for a good reason too....Neo has been brilliant in the face of adversity and we all fully respect that...also his P38 is a real looker and I for one don't want to see it anywhere else than on the road....

Well now we have established its tuning over ekk just hope there checking fuel pressure because as saint saysif there is no fuel pressure it's not going to fire bloody electrical awkwardness !
