If you were to be sat in the drivers seat whilst stationary for a while with the heater running, is there much chance of the heater exhaust fumes getting back in the cab?

Not much.
I mean no more than a car parked next to you. I took the exhaust pipe from the outlet under the seat box towards the rear of the car for a foot or so then at a right angle, through the supplied silencer and out through a big brass plumbing boss fitted in the sill. The boss exits about a foot from the rear wheel arch direct to air.
I suppose with the wind in the right direction it could make the passenger door seal but would be much diluted by said wind.
 
Looking to get one of these shortly. Reluctant to tap into the landys fuel system and would rather the heater have its own. Any pics or suggestions of where folk have mounted the aux tanks?

You will have more options on a 110+; on my 90 there is nowhere obvious to put another fuel tank where it could still be easily accessed other than in the truck bed and I wouldn't want that, personally. The Chinese kits usually come with a flat 10L tank which is thin but quite large in diameter, but I guess if you went for something smaller you could mount it under the sills, but you'd need to figure out how to bring the neck so you can fill it easily.

What makes you reluctant to tap into the fuel tank? I plumbed into the return line into the tank, that way there is no chance of it nicking fuel from the FIP and it works perfectly. If you have the short stand pipe in your return then you need the longer one, and cut an inch off it so it doesn't run the tank dry.
 
Reliability. Another thing that could go wrong with bad consiquences. Unlikely i know but still.

Was thinking I could mount the tank on the rear wheel arch in the truck bed. Its a DCPU so would be outside the cab and enable some what easy filling.
 
I have bought one for may Son's Series 2 88", I can't think of any way of having another fuel tank so will have to tap in to the vehicle tank, when I installed one in my camper I use a 1 gallon petrol can then changed to a bigger plastic tank from a boat works well but you would never hide it
 
That reminds me. I must put the fuse back in mine for the winter.
Not needed it over the summer and never bothered fitting an isolater switch.
Let’s hope it still works :)

You wants it on a nice switched relay Bobby, use an old AC switch wired in so that the frost symbol switches the circuit live :)

It has a built in fermometer that’ll do that but the problem with it draining the battery after a few days remains.
I must try and drive it more during my days off work to replenish the juice. It’s fine when I take it to work each day. Swy I popped the fuse out during summer. The built in heater is more than enough int warm wever.
 
Could you not just use a petrol can? I did all my testing with one and then fitted a boat tank. On our SWB I think we will just tap in to the fuel line as we can find a tank location

Didnt really want a plastic one. As it will sit under the arch potentially get damaged off roading/**** kicked up by the tyres.
 
Fair. May use a plastic one and some 2mm steel sheet round it.

I wont be tapping the TD5 fuel system.
 
What about a small swirl pot under the bonnet? This would give the pump a bit of head pressure.
(I use a cycle water bottle in the horse box)
You don’t burn/use much so don’t get a big container
 
I bought an all in one unit for my camping trailer project, 8kw 115 squids not sure where youd fit it in a 90 or series though....

The rubber fuel pipe is useless, I knew it wouldn't last when putting it in but did anyway, all cracked now.
