1 gear wonder lol....

fit ashcroft R380 200 tdi conversion box,that will do 250.000k easy:D

My LT77 is on about 175k according to the tachometer, probably only good for 180k knowing my luck haha

There is nought wrong with the LT77, its not the smoothest of boxes but it'll do :)

They look small.... and fast.... scary conbo :crazy_driver:

Yep :D
They are all 600's - so light and very quick
The black one is more of a sports tourer but the other two.................

0-60 in just over 3 seconds :D
80mph at the red line in first gear :D

Thats maaad, crazy acceleration. Bit of a contrast owning a landy and those nippy little things, its like the exact opposite! :D

wrong ,an ashcroft lt77 box is 445 quids and a clutch is at most 60 quids.:D

Lt77 mebbe, I just looked up my box, R380, first one came up was 999.85 or summat for a recon.

and my clutch, even on your site is £80, like the one I just fitted (cept mine was a branded one, they want £150 fer that in yer link).

If you drive properly there should not be shock load to either gearbox or clutch , so why the need to not use clutch , if you get it wrong there will be damage to either .

I spent 40 years driving lorries/wagons/trucks call em what you will.

the gearboxes without syncromesh with straight cut gears were a doddle to change without the clutch, the helical geared boxes with no syncromesh were a little less forgiving and German ZF boxes were very difficult to degotiate without practice, I think it was the cut of the gears or maybe they had more teeth per cog, it felt like it any way.

Later on with the introduction of syncromesh boxes on HGVs it became difficult to change without the clutch as the gears had to be forced past the syncro rings to engage.

So if you have worn syncromesh on yer gearbox its easy but if the box is in good nick then it will be more difficult

I wouldn't do it without the clutch for too long as I feel that this would wear the selectors and syncromesh

just my oppinion, I'm sure some smartarse will tell me that I'm talking bollocks:D

Can some smart arse tell me what the hell is wrong with using the clutch to change gear, are you saying you do not use the brakes to slow down too??
