It might be worth getting to the rf receiver, just to see if there has been water infiltration on the connectors.

Could save you a few quid if it is just corrosion.

Ok mate i will have a look tomorrow before the hospital
Thanks for you help mate

It may be worth resyncing your key fob.
Open the car and sitting in the driver's seat remove battery from key fob, press lock / unlock buttons for several seconds to drain any residual charge, replace battery, then press lock button four times followed by unlock button once and this should resync key fob.

Does that work with a D2?

That's not a method for D2 whatsoever, to change the battery in the fob you dont need ant synk'ing

Maybe there is some confusion going on, he has quoted the Defender resync , which looks like he got it from a Defender fob issue page on LR4x4.

I am waiting for him to come back and state it was on a D2.:D

Hi all
Just an update:- As for resync that did not work, So i had a look at the rf receiver and one of the 8mm bolts was a bit rusty, So thought "yes". Cleaned it up and cleaned the earth contact, Put it back together and..........No still nothing so look like i need to get a new receiver.
But at lest i can now unlock the car with the key and it now turns the alarm off plus it turns the immobilizer off.

Any way thanks to all for your help and a big shout out to Neily thanks mate.....

Nice, good job Shaun,

make sure to order the correct RF transmitter, there are a couple of different ones.

Resync , pretty sure that never going to work, as I am 99% sure that is only for the Defender.

So, it now allows you to unlock , not set off the alarm and start up OK, with the key? which it did not Yesterday, damn those rusty bolts, LOL. Gotta love Landy's .

Cheers

It worked for me on my d2 when I changed the battery without originally following the correct procedure and the key fob would not unlock the car until I had discharged any residual power in it.

Yeah mate its now letting me in and start it with out the alarm going off, Plus this is why we keep going back to them "got to love them to drive them"
All the mate.......

Rather than just splash the dosh straight away.
I would still look to see if anyone local has a receiver I could borrow off their vehicle to see if this is the problem , plus get a nanocom on it to verify the signal is being received.

Cheers
