Because it can does not mean it should. If its got muddy boots on and been off road prepped its not set up for fast road handling.
Accident waiting to happen.

i should imagine yours is well looked after and more than capable of safe drivingOk... most discos around the age of mine are now setup for off road but mine is still as standard, just road use, that's my reason for owning a V8, also I never have time to go offroading
First of my Td5 is standard by choice,However I do like to see other peoples modified Land rovers,I cant see why some one on here wants to have a pop at them if they drive them fast. What could brake on a landy at 90 mph could just as easy brake on a normal car at 90mph.Just chill out.Life is to short....SO how fast flat out can a TD5 Discovery go ?? Some one tell me ??

Well just to spark some heated controversy from those who 'never speed' I have on more than one occasion seen an indicated 105+ mph from the D2 on an empty road and she ain't got much if any more left to give.
And no, I've never had a speeding ticket or any points on my licence in almost 2 million miles by car or articulated truck, I make a point of sticking to speed limits in urban or populated areas and using my mirrors more.
I like Land Rovers, they've slowed me down a hell of a lot to what I used to be like as I perhaps tend to look over the hedge more!
There are plenty of people who can drive fast, sadly few can do it safely - I believe it is not speed that kills, it is inappropriate speed that kills.
Now digest that and rip me to pieces if you wish...
If a person cannot grasp the basic concept of the need to be able to stop short of any obstruction, including an obstruction which is likely to appear in front of them depending on the environment they're in, be it another vehicle or a pedestrian, then they shouldn't be allowed on the road.
In my experience, this applies to 99% of motorists.
The consistent levels of sheer incompetence on todays roads is nothing short of shocking.
Speed has its place. 90mph - albeit illegal - on an empty motorway is a darn sight safer than 20mph outside a school at 3pm.
I wonder how different the comments would be on here if the original thread started "someone killed my parents racing at 95mph on the motorway"
as said inappropiate driving is the killer ,http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...ulnLDQZente772Sxg&sig2=fA8QZulaqJLglsUk-YeM7QI wonder how different the comments would be on here if the original thread started "someone killed my parents racing at 95mph on the motorway"
I would also like to see how the stats on how many kids are killed in residential areas compared to fools speeding on the motorway causing accidents
Me thinks this is another whatty wind up, following on from his lowering post.
I think we should stop raising to the bait and just ignore his posts, he may then go away and sit in a dark room and play with his tool!
