As long as Land Rover products remain UK built and on top of the game without becoming some bastardised excuse for a 4x4 with a TATA badge on it, it could be very good news.
Might make for a happier Christmas for alot of people in Solihull.
Does this mean the new Defender will lose the Transit engine and have a 20 year old Peugeot engine design in it's place??!!

Mate of mine reckons they might be movin...and he told me they were interested...earlier in the year...he already works for TATA in a steel works, so could be interesting to see what happens,
D

think the stumbling block is Jaguar as part of the package, otherwise LR would have been sold long ago

Whoopeedoo, have we got sum good motors to look forward too!

They reckon Ford will give the info on the successful buyer in the new year.
We shall wait and see.....................

D:D:D

seen a comment on another fourm wondering if there would be more rag tops in the range if TATA took over

Hi Peeps,

Go to this link and see a potential Tata 'Landrover' of the future (brand new 2008 model, state of the art design etc)

Tata Motors International : Products : TATA Sumo

Better get your orders in quick, demand is expected to be high, especially in Birmingham, Leicester, Coventry and other tradional favorite locations for this vehicle.

The dashboard picture will be of particular interest to those drivers who like leading edge technology with plenty of 'gadgets' etc !!

its a sad time for two legendary car brands i can't understand how landrover are loosing money the gay landers and chelsea tractors are every where

as for disco and defenders you can't move without seeing them these days the managers at fords must be the biggest load of useless tosser in there game to fook up to dead cert businesses

as for jaguar they messed that up by trying to charge jag prices without the quality of the original jags and it deffo went pear shaped when they built a estate car ffs

as i already work for TATA in the steel industry do you think they may be up for a staff discount on a new L/R ???

I don't believe Land Rover are loosing money, they've just had a record year. However Ford in general are in trouble and feel they need to raise money by selling something, and who would by the bit that is making a loss?
I'm not an economist, but it seems a bit short sighted to raise a bit of instant capital by getting rid of the only bit that is making money.

i dont think you lot realise how big the TATA empire actually is. yes they make some **** cars but they are one of the largest companies in the world
