Ok... Today's wet update

Got rear wheel off and bashed and wire brushed more bits.
This one I knew about

Some rot behind rear springs

Found a few finger size holes as well, but not as rotten as I anticipated.

Ive just plated mine up in the same places easy to do mate can get good access to both places

Yeah, I felt a bit better about it today.

I've got a knackered back, and bending over kills me after about 2mins, so I'll do as much as I can and garage the rest.

boot floor out next. :)

Look up diesel dogs rebuild thread, he's done the cross member repairs and there are a few good pics there. Slicing the floor under/in front of the rear seats to gain access will help..

Today's update........

Boot floor out !!

YAYYYYY

2 casualties though.....

Cut through brake pipe ....*tuts*

And skimmed floor seatbelt with disc cutter.........*bolox* :(

Chassis a bit crispy in parts but not as bad as I feared.

Fuel tank out next.

Securing strap gone ....

Can I get tank out , top wise ???
Or does it need to be dropped out?

Connectors to the fuel pump thing look a bit cruddy too.
Looks like they will break when I attempt to undo them.

Are they replaceable??

And

What's this and how does it come out / disconnect???

More questions after I've had cider !!!

Tank will come out from top.

You need a new tank strap.

That plug will have some way of pressing in a lug then prize apart. The connectorsnon the tank may be ok just be gentle with them. 2 spanners and plenty of wd40 and take it easy

Haigy, I gave everything a good dose of plusgas before I packed everything away, so hopefully the pipes will undo ok when I get round to it.

need to get the pressure washer out, and give everything a good blast tomorrow.

Hi Billy B, good luck, Its a bit daunting, but will be well worth it in the end........get a thread going when you start and don't forget to put up plenty of pics !!

Haigy,
I didn't mean the electrical connector, I meant how the other thing in the tank comes out/apart.

Today's update.......

Steel ordered yesterday. Should be in tomorrow :) in

Cut outer bit off sills. .... Not sure what to expect, so I'm cutting slowly..

Front

Rear

Might need a bit of mentoring......

How much of the other side do I cut off.??

How do I cope with body mounts??

Are you box sectioning it out or plating it. If you measure the mounts in situ and either tack to box section and try in place or if your plating it use frogatts easy on panels great quality and everything is there if you buy the kit

Been on mine for best part of a year. In fairness it was amongst other things going on. I am not going to fill your thread with my pics as they are available to people who know how to find them. The boys that said it is worth it in the end are bang on. Mines coming on a treat and I couldn't have believed how food it feels to stand back and see what you've done.

oooo .........what happened there ???

Haigy ...... I'm boxing it.

Dr No ....... I've been following your thread ...... very good work.

I hate this new update !!!!! ........ cant find anything !!!!

If theres good metal on the sill then leae as much as possible to bite to. Then offer box section up.tack in place.and puddle weld thru the floor. Green hornet has a full story on box sills and how he did it.

Coming along nicely But.

Good Work, Just had all my hoses arrive for the engine overall.
Nice shiny blue ones from DPH.
pic to follow if I ever work out how to add them on the new site.

Thanks Squares, If I get everything (Haha !) done now, It'll be a good investment of my time and money.

Dr No. Start a new thread for yer hose change, i'll be well interested in following that.
I been looking at mine now the inner wing is off, esp the intercooler ones..

Re- uploading, I take mine on my phone and upload them to the photobucket app, and then copy and paste the link.
