First major breakdown in the 110 :(:(

Looks like the crank sensors died. Was sitting at the lights heard and felt 2 large "jumps" first i thought someone had hit me. Then EML light on, pulled over as I did the landy died.

Nanocom out "high speed crank"

Very annoying not got a spare with me its at home  more annoying as its a genuine part fitted 2 years ago and already failed. Poor show.

Sorry to hear that , hope ur soon up and running again

Wow, That was nice of him, I also stop if it’s safe to do so for landies thats broken down , as they say u never know when ur be in the that situation

I’ve been helped in the past when I had my series so always nice to pay it back where possible

Did the crank sensor just have a Year’s warranty on it, wonder if u can contact the company about it

Ps, by the way , that really looks good

Hopefully the company will offer a replacement for u

Indeed, my points failed on one of my series and a guy stopped and towed me home , wouldn’t take any money to cover his fuel

So nice to see the Land Rover community is still alive and kicking

New connector in place. Stripped back the wires 10mm and pulled back the sheilding. The sheilding now runs to the very end of the sensor.

Left the crank sensor in as it is a genuine one after all and not that old!

All back together and works after a test run!

Been meaning to change my brake fluid too so perfect time. Full flush with DOT5.1 did the clutch fluid as well for goo measure. SO handy being able to power bleed with the Nanocom :D

New seatbelt in from Exmoor as my old one decided to fall to bits

Now going to pull the rear seats out and measure up for a new slide out drawer im going to weld up. Itll have a special spot for a crank sensor :)

Did u manage to sort the wiring by the side of the road or get towed

Recovery home. I wasnt about to start digging around the back of a red hot engine in a non emergancy situation.

Annoyjng as i could have sorted it enough to get to work had I investigated further!

Not had the most interesting updates recently! Im sorry lol been busy at work and the landy is getting very close to finished. Infact what I set out to do when I bought it ive done 90% of! So im glad :D

That said few interesting projects coming soon -

Pull out underseat rear drawer -
Going to draw up this week

RRS Rear Seats -
Basic planning stage

Secure Locking Rear Canopy -
Got the idea set out just need some materials and the finer points ironed out.

Side Open Tailgate -
Plan is to add a drop down panel for it to use if the rear is fully loaded when away/working. I want to fit a small basic hob burner hidden within it. Ideally central locking as well.

No need for the strong drop down now ive got the tray

Split charge system -
Depending on funds etc... Could do with it now I often run two large coolboxes amd eventually a fridge!

Current plans anyway!

Tax refund is through

Side Tailgate Ordered :D

Just checking prices for OME suspension. Got 3 misting dampers now o_O

Anyone know the best supplier? Emailed Gywn Lewis and Island4x4

Was only a few mm left on the pad:eek: New Brembo pads in :)

Also fitted some new arch liners as mine had well vanished

Noticed a small coolant leak last week and thanks to @neilly for the bung size all sorted.

Took the oppertunity to remove this now pointless hose and pipe.

Much cleaner engine bay and less places to leak coolant now :)

Also swapped the old bolts for some nice A4 Stainless ones :)

Potential good news. Got a mate drawing up some rear door hinges similar to the TMD ones. Larger pins, grease nips and no external bolts to tamper with.

Should be easier and quicker to draw up and have made than the front door hinges as much less complex.

Means i do not need a swing away for sure! Also get a more secure rear door.

Also found some massive zips! 14mm when closed! Which im going to fit to the hood. Do away with the rope.
