Having just acquired a Freelander TD4 S, I am looking to put some new boots on it.

My research has pointed me towards the General Grabber AT2s as the car is really only going to be used by the wife when she cant get the Golf out and by myself at the weekend for a bit of off roading while shooting.

Are these the best tyres for what I need and can I put 225 / 75 / 16 onto my standard suspension without any issues with rubbing on the wheel arches or the springs ?

215/70x16 are as big as you can go without spacers/lift

Above 215 you risk rubbing on the suspension

Thanks for the response - however I have made a bit of a schoolboy as the wheels are only 15".

Am I right in thinking 215 / 70 / 15s will be ok ?

I ran 195/80x15 on my last Freelander
