Timtheenchanter and I went out for a short trip round local lanes to test memory map

Couldn't find the route on the last lane so did an "addition"

Tim got horribly stuck. We had recovery gear but when I tried to pull him out his straps gave way. Mine were OK but not long enough unless I joined him in the bog.

No phone service of course so I had to drive out to ring for help. gdhaydock came out in his Disco and got Tim out. Then Tim got stuck again getting out, so two rescues in one.

Thank you to Zip, I was panicing, first time this has happened when I have been laning.

And before Defender 11069 mentioned my "additions" :p this one was Tims :D:D:D:D

We know that "no pics it didn't happen" so I am unloading loads now :D

and the moral of the story.always take good recovery straps .especially on one of sue.w "addition":crazy_driver::behindsofa:

His idea, I told him nrgserv had got a series stuck for 4 hours on that lane :p

My attempt at rescue, unfortunately we need both mine and Tims strap and one broke

International Rescue arrives :D:D:D

Out :D

Then on the way out this happened. Not my fault I was in front
This time it was drivers side

Ooooh .. any chance you can send me a gpx of that lane, please Sue? .. we're up in North Yorks in a couple of weeks with some other people ...

Haven't tried my winch in a proper rescue yet .. ;)

Yes no problem. Would speak to nrgserv first though. He got a series stuck for 4 hours. Zip said they also tried to winch something out of it. Its really bad past where Tim got stuck.

Will also send you the other one we found today. Bit of rain and you might need the winch on that. Look at the NY laning thread, the artistic photo where I got the light wrong. That was deep and rutted and it hasn't rained.

Cheers Sue. ;)

Great pics! looks like those tyres would struggle in that mud, guessing most things would struggle, happy ending though :)

Can't beat a decent rope. Strops for winching ropes for recovery well done guys!!
;)

Yep, I need a rope now. Never occurred to me that the stuff I had would not be long enough :rolleyes:
told yer that yonks ago

notice i'm getting loads o credit for supplying all these nice ropes, even if I did have to send alternative dragging power cos I were already involved in another rescue of a different nature :(

ah well, least it got sorted:eek:

 Sorry

Yes I rang Neil who sent help and ropes :D:D:D

I didn't believe that I would ever be daft enough to drive far enough into a bog to need longer ropes :D I do now, my Landy will have miles of the stuff in future :D
