With all this spare time at home i would off thought you would of had time to repair that handle and the table could do with a sand down and coat of teak oil, cant you you just sitting around drinking:D:D:D:D:p
I agree with you about the handle, I left the table and chairs to the Enemy, she didn't rub them down, too many she said, just teak oiled the table top..I wouldn't have got away with half a job, different story when they've got the brush in their hands.:D

I know the feeling one rule for you and none for them:oops:

Ha ha. I have a bigger hammer..
And was used for less hassle.

Yes I know how to select the port
This bloody computer just dodnt let me.over ride what it suggested.

I may bring it in the shop where I bought it from and give them 5 minutes to sort it out before the shotgun goes off in there direction.
I bought one which should be easy to do stuff. Not complicated or not at all.

Now I get a new crap message.

I did select it.
In fact I tried selecting every single one available. From 1 to 15.
All give the same.message.

Went to the shop and.yold.them to sort it. I paid 900 quit for this thing.

All they saying the laptop is not compatible with serial port programs. . As it would be to old. For it.

And nowhere a cheap old laptop with serial port for sale around here.

I start thinking I made the biggest mistake in over 50 years with the range rover. Sorry.
I'm getting nowhere.

I just loosing the will to live.
The time I wasted for something which just disnt want to work for me is unreal.

Some.foul offered me a 20 year old laptop for 200 quit . I really have to hold.myself back not go round and ..
.. ( imagine what I mean ).

The shop do not know what they are talking about I have the EAS software running on Win 10.
Serial port laptops can be found for about £50 on Ebay.
I think it's time you went for springs.

Yes.

I can not get it working on my laptop.
Around bloody Derbyshire, people want money for nothing.
You dont get anything cheap.
I refuse buying the software from rsw for 200 pound just in case it would work which is no guarantee.

I refuse buying an old laptop with serial port for 200 pound.
I did try 4 by now I found and none of them works anymore.
Sorry.

I cant see why is not working for me but anyone else.

Maybe that pile.called car is not for me and is just a scrapper.

I didnt buy a freelander because they to small and all reachable discos looked.like dirty offroader with no carpets and every broke on it.

I may just sell it again.

I start hating it by now because nothing works to sort one little issue.

Sorry but I lost the will to live with it.
3.weeks for one little problem and no results.

The problem with going cheap is the lack of support when you have issues. I bought my RR cheap as it had issues and it has so far cost me over £2k in the last 18 months and still counting.
I don't know what you paid for yours but hopefully it was cheap enough to offset what you have already spent. I would be careful if you are thinking of a Disco 1 or 2 unless you are good at welding.

Buying the software from RSW would not make one iota of difference, it uses the same port and USB connection as the EAS software.

I cant weld. Lol

Yes I'm in your price too.
Around here you pay even for a non runner about 1k.

To many assholes.living here. if we wouldnt have a nice bungalow with big garden in a quiet are I would be gone long time again

I know.
It's no point buying it.

I have no idea what do with ths laptop.
There is no option I can find to enable the so called shut off.com ports

If I get enough energy I get the old.xp computer out the loft with keyboard mouse and CRT screen.
Put the tent next to the car so I can play in the rain with it.

Maybe that f..... works

Just a thought, many Bluetooth drivers can hog com ports. Sometimes, disabling Bluetooth in device manager can help.

Is switches of.
Next door has his teenager around at the weekend trying to connect to anything.
So switched it off..

I thought about all that. But device manager dosnt let me add the driver straight to the com port .
And since it come up with com port is disabled or off or whatever it say now I have no idea how to solve this.
There is nothing on the internet to tell how to get it working.

I may only have the choice to try get the old xp desktop down and hook it up.

And then shift the whole stuff on the backseat of the rover and hope it works.
Which may looks.quiet funny with a 19" CRT screen. Lol

If not. - Coils.

It appears there is something fundimently wrong going on with what you are doing...the cable has been used before and also the operating system has also worked for other members...your computer shop that sold you the lap-top is it a legit dealer authorised or a high street re-cycler of possible returns that have faults...
