Gorgeous, hard dash, auto and one of my favourite colour/trim combos, perfect.. pic 4 is great btw.. well done you.. ;)

That's the car, and in that colour, that made me want a Range Rover.
It is magnificent.
If it's ever up for sale I'll join the bidding.

blackstrat, 3.5 efi, dogsbody, dunkan, saint, silverlandy,

Thank you all for your positive feedback, it's been fun to do, (though i admit i did throw my inspection light across the garage just the once) i really appreciate that all you range rover afficionados like it.

I realy think that it sets off the nature of the Classic very well. It has 85k on it from new with the full history to back it up, and now a whole ream of reciepts to add to the pile. i really wanted to keep the essence of its history intact while putting it back to its best. A record of what has been done and when with photographs is also in the history file.

I ended up removing the heads and renewing the top end and inspected the condition of the inside of the V8, there was very little carbonisation under the rocker covers, it just came out with a rag, the piston heads and liners were clean as were the cylinder crowns, camshaft etc showed very little wear.. it was very well looked after. Again, all photographed and documented.

There was some fun in yanking the old wiring additions made over the years, cutting out chockblocks resoldering and heat shrinking joins (the wife was cool about me using her hair dryer!!) I've also dinitroled the sills which had all been cut out and replaced as well as many other areas of note, there's still some minor finishing touches i want to do.. bracket to mount the cd changer under the right side shelf in the boot, underbonnet insulation is a little tatty so that will be done this weekend and a full under body, chassis clean and seal.

So when that's done.. i'll take it greenlaning.. only kidding!
