Right so, Hi there. I'm Ed I'm 21 and have been involved with land rover trialing since I can remember really. If you are in a ALRC club and you don't recognise my name you'll probably know the cars. So
My CCV car is an 80" hybrid with a 4.2v8 and a ZF auto box
Then the Comp safari car (not the one that this thread is about) is a 3.5 with a 3speed auto and twin shocks
Anyway, I started building this in febuary 2014 It's a disco 2 chassis and will start of with a 3.9 and a zf auto and fancy shocks of some sort! then when it's finished and a relable car i will then start messing with the engine for a bit more power!
This is how it all started off
Then I stripped everthing off the chassis and de bracketed it all
Once that was done it was shortened to 88" wheelbase
Once all that was done, I made up the rear x member from a bit of old racking. Some of the pictures were taken where i used to work hence i could turn up the tubes and mill a few holes as it was easier/ probably safer to do it that way,
Plus a shiny new fuel tank and swirl pot!
I fitted the outriggers for the front hoop
Along the way i'd had to patch up a few rust holes (where the rear shock mounts were. a really crap design by land rover!) so i had the chassis soda blasted to make sure there was nowhere else i'd missed
Then I had a 444mile round trip to PP cages to pick up the new roll cage, which i was very excited about!
I then fitted that on, and the last picture is from where i got to yesterday making up front wing bars and side bars,
That's where i'm up to now so i'll get back out to the garage now and get cracking and i'll try to remember to keep this as up to date as i can!
