Bled the brakes again today. Pushed some air out I reckon. The alternative is that some air got sucked in past the nipple and pipe, but I don't think so. Some air went down the bleed pipe anyway! Took it for a ride up and down the street and it did feel better, but not great. Still a bit soft. Could that be the servo? Having said that I can't remember them being that great before. Hard to remember it's so long ago! I'll wait and see what the MOT tester says.
Changed the prop shaft nuts and bolts. Old ones would have been fine, but the nuts and heads were fairly rusty. I'd put them on a paddocks order months back, but not got around to changing them.
Stuck the DEFENDER and Tdi lettering on and I'm really pleased with the overall look. I know some people don't like the silver grille etc, but I think it freshens it up a bit without going over the top.
Going to call the garage tomorrow, it's about 5 miles away in the next village, to see when I can get it booked in for an MOT.

Cheers, defenderdog. Really appreciate that. Fingers are crossed for the MOT, cos I can't wait to drive it on the open road. :)

Looking very nice indeed in all that new paint. I see the wisteria has come out too, just to complete the picture.

Cheers, Brown. I'm very pleased with the paint job, especially for what I paid for it.
Sadly the wisteria, like everything else, has been neglected due to the Landy. It's usually absolutely loaded with blossom, but I pruned it too late! Mostly foliage this year.

It's got more flowers on than mine, at any rate!
It normally fills with flowers before the leaves appear. (only a few leaves among all of the flowers) It's on a due South facing wall, which probably makes a big difference.

I have no doubt it's better than a new one, and it looks it too.
Cheers, frog hopper. Appreciate the comment. Not as good as a new one, but it's not bad :)

Looks fantastic basking in the sunshine, top work as always mate.
Cheers, Aaron.
Absolutely glorious day up here today. Probably our summer been and gone now  It was starting to get very dusty and I needed to clean it to stick the silver lettering on. Perfect day for cleaning it and getting some decent photographs. :)

Wow you should be so very very proud of your achievement . She looks stunning and is a credit to you

Looks like all those cold we'd days, and hard work have been worth it, must be a great feeling, well done, it look the business.

looks bloody good
Cheers, Dave B. That's much appreciated. :)

I am pretty chuffed, to be honest. I've seen the pictures of your work though GATSO and you're in a league way above me. Thanks for the comments, they mean a lot. :)

Cheers, raywin. Appreciate you taking the time to comment. You're right, it has made all the cold wet days worth it. However, I admit that there was the odd time when I really questioned why I was doing it. That happened on winter days, when it was very cold and damp, spanners were wet and within ten minutes I couldn't feel my hands, never mind if I was actually holding anything in them. They were enthusiasm sapping days alright! If there is ever a next time for a full rebuild, I'll be sorting a garage/workshop to do it in. I hate myself for saying this, but I think I'm getting too old to be lying on the drive in those conditions. :(

Thanks again to everyone for the positive comments. They also help a great deal in making it worth the effort.
I've got it booked in for an MOT today, but I have to wait until next Monday as they are full until then. Just want Monday to be here now! :)

Looking forward to hearing the result of the MOT, I would wish you luck but I really don't think you'll need it.

Stunning rebuild :)

Cheers, Mark. Feel free to wish me a bit of luck! I'll certainly have my fingers crossed all day Monday :) I supposed the worst case scenario is that I get a list of things to put right. Not the end of the world, but more time to wait before I can drive it.
