From my experience multiple fault codes indicate 1 of 3 things
1)earthing and power supply issues
2) faulty ecu
3) major engine issues that are visable or audio diagnosable

My suggestion with So many faults is clean up All connections and get faults cleared, then see what comes up.

I had T4 that BBA remain said replace ecu and throttle body over phone- talking bollocks as it was multiple bad earths

You've hit the nail on the head. I was ripped off when I bought it. 2 weeks later it broke down. AA attended and towed me to a LR specialist who said he plugged and got a mid fire reading on no.5. He cleared the code told me it was fine, broke down 20 mins later. He didn't take my calls. Got it towed to another LR specialist who replaced crank sensor but ignored diagnostic reading of mis Fire on no. 5. So it broke down again. This time with my family in the car with me.

I've previously asked on here for a recommendation of a trust worthy mechanic that would look after my car, but to no avail.

Just remembered, it's actually been at 3 different LR specialists in total. This time I was concerned about the high oil consumption. This particular guy told me to 'stick it on eBay and get rid'. Charming.

Are people reluctant to work on them because it's cold on their garages this time of year, or because it's a V8 and not the trusty Td5?

High oil consumption, but good compression. Three specialists that you've just remembered. Is it too cold to find a mechanic?

You don't need a Toyota. You need a chauffeur.

I've photograph the receipts and put them on here tomorrow.

Good night Jeeves.

Ok, so I woke up this morning and thought 'lets get her fixed'.

Phoned The Land Rover Centre in Speke. I've explained that the car has engine damage and that LR Hatfields say the only course of action is to replace engine. I ask him if in his experience the damag could be repaired. His answer, 'it's a throw away engine, there are NO parts within the engine that can be repaired' and quoted me £7K for a new engine. When I asked him were that engine would be sourced from he said, 'from the people that make engines for Land Rover'. Lol!!

Anyway, I then phone the mechanic that did all the work on the car for the previous owner, Andy West from The Discovery Centre, West Yorkshire. I've explained that I've had a few issues with the vehicle and told him were I'm up to. I say, 'given that you know the vehicle and have previously stripped and rebuilt the engine would you be willing to work on it for me?' He told me that I needed to phone the previous owner. I explained that the guarantee on his work had expired (it was 6 months or 6000 miles, it's now 7 months and 1200 miles since he did his work) and that I was happy to pay for the car to be right. But then I was intrigued, apparently his guarantees are owner specific and not car specific. When I said I was going to quote him on here he put the phone down!

Conclusion: if you want to get rich and not give a #### about customer service or satisfaction, open a Land Rover 'service centre'.

PM James Martin. he'll get it sorted for you and at a reasonable price. Course you'll need to get it to Lincolnshire. but it'll still save you a fortune.
