.... well at least for the time being at least.

For a while I had the book symbol showing on the HEVAC system and have been using the manual setting for blowing air into the cabin.

It was going to be on the list of things to look at over the time and a diagnostics on an Autologic system was showing a problem with the compressor clutch.

Well, as many others have found, the recent weather has been a bit on the warm side, so I got hold of a refil kit on the net and decided to give it a go.

A pressure test before using the refil showed low pressure and once refilled it I am getting nice cold air out again with no book symbol.

Fingers crossed it does not come back and the fault was due to a lack of maintenance and refil of the A/C system rather than a leak somewhere, although I did spot a slight escape of bubbles from the high pressure port when I removed the cap.

Usually there is a leak sealer within the gas which is supposed to lubricate/seal O rings. As for the bubbles, it might just be residual gas just after you filled it. You could take the cover off and squirt some soapy water on the valve to see if the bubbles are still there. Not sure if you could use a tyre valve remover to test if the valve is slack.

Mmm wonder if thats my problem too
Ive got the handbook symbol and everything seems to work exept the ac isnt very cold
Didnt want to have it refilled untill after diagnostic incase i have to replace any part of the ac system

Forget the tyre valve suggestion  The valves are totally different to what I was thinking, coz I just checked on mine :)
