Confirmed today I have the slightest of leaks from heater matrix. Its going to be a few weeks before we can get round to changing it. So as a temporary help do I
1 just keep an eye on it
2 bypass the matrix at the curtain wall
3 uncouple feed and return to matrix rig up pump to them and flow a drop of K seal through for 30mins or so. Have had previous success years ago with a couple of non RR's doing this but don't want to risk anything untoward.
4 any other thoughts
Cheers guys all comments of any sort welcome

1 gets my vote, then replace with an Audi core. It isn't as if you're going far at the moment.

All are viable.

That's my thinking but I am just worried it might go pop. Then again could just bypass matrix quick enough to get going

I don't like k seal if its the one with copper flakes in it ,you will never get rid of the evidence that uv used it ,if you ever go to sell the vehicle ,and watch out for bars sealant some are not compatible with rovers rubber ...,

I've seen quite a few people saying the Audi matrix isn't all that and reduces the heat output you get.

Cheers Brian that's the info I've been looking for

I only know the numbers as i was given a kit to do it by one of the other members on here who scraped his p38, here's the kit

Actually it is the Nissens 70230 you want, not the 70220, as it has the correct sized inlet and outlet to match the P38, 19mm.

I got the Audi heater and as I was unable to change it myself at the time, I gave it to a local non LR garage and they said it didnt fit

I've found a step by step with photos on internet showing how to do it They couldn't have tried very hard

It can be done with a small bit of cutting I think and it’s supposed to cure them poxy o rings leaking I’m not sure but the pipes just go on with jubilee clips

That's right replaces metal pipes with hoses . Lot simpler
