Always check mine if the wheels have been off after 50 to 100 miles. Then roughly every two weeks. To be fair they have only ever needed a slight tweak up once after having been off and then usually only two or three out of the five.
BUT
Caravan wheels get checked before every trip and I've found that regular as clockwork every third trip the kerb side wheel nuts have needed tightening
To them that have no torque wrench, get one, learn how to use it
Elderly friend of mine is old school (bless) relies on feel to torque is wheel nuts...... He lost a wheel on his trailer tent recently.
He learnt the hard way, yes when he was young and fit he could probably torque a wheel nut by feel and be spot on ish but now he doesn't have the same strength....................
