No mate, been working and stuff today and I wouldn't dare look after seeing yours. Fall out ? I didn't notice you were in and that's not the first time you have heard that :p

MOST is the electronics network that ford uses i.e. the updated models that came out in mid 04 or so before the change to Jag engines in 06.

I will get a service done soon and I'll get them to do a check who knows maybe we will get lucky.

I have an amount of driveline slack in the propshafts but i think that's normal.
Regarding the transmission, we stripped that down completely a couple of years back but one of thing i was going to try at some point was to make sure the box is full to the brim with fluid as i haven't checked it since we did the rebuild but if you going to try that make sure you follow the procedure of filling and checking with the engine running otherwise it will pee out all over the place if the engine is off.

I paid for an indy to spend an hour on it but they couldn't find anything wrong but feel free to have a try, it would be interesting to see what they say.

When i was checking the engine is was for basic air leaks in case the engine revs were dropping off too much when i throttled off and i would imagine the later model upgrade would feather the throttle rather than allowing it to accelerate from idle with a snap.

Whats a MOST updated model ?

I would be really interested to see what they say, one other thing i thought of was engine mounts as strangely one of my middle exhaust hangers has always been snapped and the engine had a fiar bit of movement in it when we removed the transmission but i tried a camera on the mounts while making it clunk and it didn't seem to be unusual.

Tis now on ebay and Autotrader...had a couple of emails...but no firm interest as yet!

One geezer wants to take it to America and do a 2500mile trip once he gets there so asked if it was mechanically sound....

My reply....

Hi,

Many thanks for your enquiry.

She runs very well and currently is running smoothly.

But, she is 28 years old fitted with a 24 year old 200Tdi engine. Whilst I replaced the cambelt, followers, idler and crank sprocket last year reset the tappet clearances and did the fluids and filters.....she is still a 24 year old Land Rover!!

Fantastic cars and if you can spanner your own repairs they will give you much joy.

As for a 2500 mile trip, she would no doubt make it but I can wield a spanner with confidence so a trip of such distance, while daunting, I would relish as half the fun of old Land Rover ownership is fixing things on the fly!

Not sure what parts supplies are like in the US for old Land Rovers so be mindful she is old, a mix of Disco engine and PAS, TD5 rear axle, and 28 years worth of electrical modifications.....

Hope that helps in some way.
