You need a full straight through once you're done mate ;) I found out from 3k letting off the throttle gives off a massive scooby style bang which can set off car alarms in town

It is pretty much straight through, no cats and cherry bomb. Need to make a larger one though, its only like 2.5"

I have no cat or cherry bomb just straight off the headers and 2 3/4 bore now :D

Although due to heat issues I'm having to stick the cast iron ones back on and drop to 2.5

you dont want or need bigger than 2.5...one needs to keep the velocity of escaping gases high..
heat wrap helps alot..hot gases will escape quicker ..
there is a science to exhausts..bigger is not better..you dont see m3's etc with big exhausts..

and besides, big stupid load exhausts just attract the plod...which is not always so good..

if you running megasquirt, why even have a dizzy??defeats the point if you ask me..totally waterproof is but a coil pack away!!

Did you fit those p38 headers?, I have question for you, do you know of any off the shelf Y sections and down pipes from the headers that are a bigger diameter than the standard ones? As they are the width of a drinking straw on my RRC.

makes no odds when you're running straight off the headers with no downpipes, gasses flow fast enough then

plod don't care, drove past 4 and they loved it (2 stationary)

P38 are bigger than RRC, they're 2.5 on P38

Soooo, you think if fit the p38 headers, get a p38 y section, chop off the cats, that longer y section from the p38 will fit between the chassis and go under the cross member?

I haven't seen any new p38 y sections with no cats for sale, have you?

all have cats, find a set at a breakers with the cats chopped off already or ask places on ebay who break p38s

if it doesn't work I'm sure you have a grinder and welder

Cheers Evil, do you think they will fit under the cross member or would I have some heating and bending and smashing with a hammer?

Very happy in the dark ages ;)

A series one with a V8 up front and a series 3 with a 200tdi as a daily is the way forward! Even if they both don't like stopping  should really address that issue........

p38 headers will not fit disco or rrc...wont fit past chassis or indeed bulkhead..cant comment on anything else except p38..which they fit..lol

have tried,dont fit.

if they did no one would be buying headman headers etc.

and i am right about exhaust..bigger aint better..open headers for strip only..not even F1 use open headers..tuned..tuned my friend..

yes but on a series one where I have far too much power for the vehicle anyway it makes no odds to me other than sounding better

tuned is all well and good in a vehicle that can cope with the power but a drum braked car from 1957 with a crash gearbox definitely doesn't need a fully tuned V8 in it! A real evil sounding one......yes!
