Hi,
My 90 (fitted with Disco 200Tdi engine) has a cold starting problem.
If the temperature is close to, or below freezing it won't catch and keep going.
When I turn the key it fires, but as soon as the key is released (starter stops) the engine cuts out like it's starved of fuel. ( A combination of holding it on the starter longer and reving it as soon as it fires will get it going, with a bit of cussing)
It's been suggested that it could be due to modern deisel having more biofuel and stuff in it, which causes the fuel to thicken in colder weather, and therefore not draw through to start with.
I've swapped the lift pump and filters but still not solved the problem.
Any other suggestions?
