Right, off to France tonight for 10 days to a sailing event so the Landy is on pause right now. For security, I put it in the drive. Originally the plan was to put it up to the carport as I didn't think it would fit but there were a few mm to spare so I put it in all the way. At least now it will stay dry while Im away. It gave me the opportunity to drive it for the first time after the rebuild (The first time driving it full stop actually). No nasty noises and it all works properly apart from the clutch a bit jumpy being new.

Back from France and now only a week to go until I need to go back to concentrating on college so I need to get on.

Got the wings back together and lined up so might get them primed tomorrow.

I really haven't got long to finish this so really need to get cracking. Got some parts coming tomorrow such as door hinges, wipers and wing fixings so the wings should be bolted on by the end of tomorrow. Drivers door needs welding and skinning, passenger needs filling and painting. Bonnet needs painting and after that the main rebuild is done, then it's just finishing off the details and doing the interior. The aim is to have the car in a MOT state by the end of next week so that I can get the MOT and VIC done in November half term when I hope to have passed my test by.

Got the wings primed, painted and fitted (After some time) and also painted the grille.

Finally starting to look like a car again :)

Got the bolts for the wings today so now they're solid to the body, only problem is the wing I repaired has warped too much so won't fit so a new outer skin is needed. Got all the brackets on and front grille bolted on. Got the headlights on and wired up (Both now work). Bumper also on.

Plan for tomorrow is to get the plastic light surrounds and grille painted silver and get the rest of the lights in. Might start prepping the bonnet for paint.

Having a look at the drivers door, Im thinking the frame is too far gone all over but I'll get some pictures for tomorrow.

Decided that the light surrounds needed painting and seeing the defender on wheeler dealers convinced me to paint them silver and they look very nice with the blue body. I came to the conclusion that the dashboard isn't going to get refurbished in the time I have left so I started to put that back in. While doing it I realised that one of the new footwells got welded on top of the holes for the windscreen wiper motor holes.

Today's job were: Sorting dents in bonnet, etch priming and prime, Fitting passenger seat, Windscreen wiper motor and finish dash, sorting dents and scratches in passenger door.

Ordered a new wing skin for the LH wing and door skin for the drivers door which still needs welding up.

*Photobucket isn't working right now so I'll upload the photos tomorrow morning.*

Quite a bit done over the last couple of days, my SP land rover bits finally came (While I was out at a Uni open day, they just left it by the car).

Got the drivers door welding done which took about a day with all the prep. The welding wasn't brilliant but its strong enough and nothing a bit of chemical metal couldn't fill :) Got that painted in anti corrosive primer.

The passenger door was in a worse state than I thought. At some point someone has put a thick layer of filler all over the door. I haven't got time to reskin it now so I'll live with it and make it one of my small projects to do in the future. So I just filled the major dents, primed and painted it today.

Got the wing skin and drivers door skin today so re skinned the door with plenty of sealant. Got that etch primed and primed as well as the wing.

So brace yourselves for a large number of pictures.

So now its the final push this weekend to get the big jobs finished so it's just details that need doing while I'm at college. MOT is planned for half term so last week in October and VIC after that. Hoping to take my test in half term too.

That's my friends place sp land rover love going to his place all nice shiny new Land rover parts everywhere.

It's looking great. What a cracking job. Good luck with the test, but remember, all of the best drivers passed second time :D

So the weekends work was getting the passenger door fitted and the floor all bolted down. Still need to get the lower door seal fitted in place when I can work out how it goes on. Also got it out on the road for a few pictures. Finished college early today so managed to fix the lock on the passenger door as one of the connecting rods was missing, I just made one out of some thick wire. Only problem was had to take most of the door apart to get access to it.

Over the last couple of days, got the drivers door painted and fitted it today. Due to the welding, the hinge bolts on the bottom are too short so I need to buy some longer ones. It was dark by the time I got the door on so that explains the picture. At least it fits better than the passenger door did.

Slow progress, back to college, Uni open days and waiting for pay day :( Have managed to get a few odd jobs done over the last week though.

Got my switch panel cut out. The locking switch is a fuel pump solenoid isolator and Im going to buy some carling switches for the rest. Finally got around to changing the catflap lock as the car came with no keys for it, still was a pain to do. Got the left hand side eyebrows on with a couple of rivets as they don't line up properly and I didnt order enough rivets

Been looking at ways to attach the rear exhaust onto the crossmember as the old bracket had broken off the old one but Im not in favour of welding it to my new crossmember as I want to use the bracket already on the crossmember but the exhaust doesn't line up with it as its a converted 200tdi?

Got a battery retainer made up so the battery doesn't slide around, just need to make a strap to go over the top.
