From a short turm power gain point of view dumping the egr valve is of limited value. From the long term power retention point of view, removing or bypassing the egr is well worthwhile by stopping all that horrible sludge build up.
 
Allisport EGR blanker and DPH hoses with all the other kit - now i have the amigos popping up (good job that i have plenty of time with my job to sort it out!)

Putting a blanker in with hoses is best done as one job to ensure a full clean - howling intake box 115k meant a lot of carbon - used a cleaning unit in the workshop with the aid of compressed air for deep clean :)

Just waiting for my rubber gromit so i can place my synergy in the ecu compartment

Fully agree , worth doing , more torque from 1200rpm , smoother engine running ,better throttle responce , prevents carbon build up in the intake system , more power (up to10bhp) reduction of black smoke under full accelaration , and clean the intake manifold and ports while your at it , see mings sticky , also my mpg seems to have improved on a run !

I know that mate, I mean the bypass kit.....pulling the vacuum pipe off and plugging is the best way. :)

£3k isnt to bad for that car at your age - i'm 22 and mine came to £850 with 1 year n/c and advanced driving etc. I get charged extra due to been in the forces - reckon i'm some boy racer!

I'm 21 next week and iv just renewed my insurance on my 3.0 Range Rover L322 for £870 !

How many years no claims you got ?
