Hi guys,

the worlds worst mechanic here.
As above I’m getting difficulty going into gear. It also seems like the gear selection has moved?? Like it’s in a different position to the way it was..??
Don’t know if any of you can identify with what I mean..! I hope so as I need the bugger to get me to work!
Thanks fellas,
Mark

Could be bias spring broken, right on top of gearbox where the lever goes in

There is also a grub screw on a shaft which may be loose. Can't be more specific as it was years ago but was evident when the top of the box was removed. No major strip down, it's just there under the turret somewhere.
The screw clamps something involved with gear change, on to a shaft.
Mine was loose and slipping on that shaft or rod messing up my gate.

Just to update on this- ... I’m sitting right now waiting recovery as the bloody gearstick seems to has unattached itself from the box..,,, it loose and floppy and can’t get into gear. FFS! Aaagh!!! is this a continuation of what it other members thought it was before, or an altogether different issue?

thanks guys

the same bias spring plate will be broken or selector yoke grub screw come loose, quite and easy job to fix when you get center consol off

Thanks gents for all of your input- showed to the brilliant RAC man who sorted it out road side. I would have dropped him a very very large drink if I’d have had it as now I won’t be stuck at home tomorrow with a 4 and 7 year old!

cheers!
