Have just done a 1.5 inch lift to my 97 disco and am now looking to upgrade my standard sized tyres.

Does anybody know if 235/85/16 Bf goodrich A/T tyres will fit with no cutting required?

no, its not an mot faliure, the speedo will only be out if the rolling radius is different to the original. there is a formula to calculate it and it involves measuring the circumference of both the original and the new tyres then multiplying by something but i can't remember what. its easier just to get a mate to drive in front of you at set speeds, ie 30, 40, 50, 60 70, and get him to put his thumb up or something as he reaches the set speeds ;)

235 is the width isnt it?. The 70R16 as opposed to the 85R16 are smaller. As I understand it the 70 is seven inches of side wall and the 85 is 8.5 inches of side wall giving you three inches taller wheels.

This might only affect your speedo by about 10 percent. You will do less revs but it will show as the same speed at the same revs as always, but you will actually be going faster.
I think :)

no jack, the 70 or the 85 or whatever it is is basically the percentage of the width of the tread that the side wall is, ie; 235/85x16 is a 235mm wide tyre with an sidewall that is 85%of that 235mm as its depth, i hope this is clear ;)
